Rain NB: Bright eyes, greasy hair, well-worn Converse,
roaming around town at dusk, the shine of streetlights against wet concrete,
cold fingers and warm hearts, glitter in their hair, parks after dark, dancing
to music only they can hear
Sunshine NB: Smiling, the feel of grass between your toes,
lemonade with a hint too much sugar, probably collects rocks, kissy-faces in
selfies, skips everywhere, loose-knit cardigans, wearing loose clothing that
flares out when they spin, making their friends bouquets
Mist NB: Spacing out but comes back with a smile, smells
like the earth after it rains, dark hair, well-worn boots, grey skinny jeans,
mint tea, stays up late and sleeps in, loves dancing in the rain, cold fingers,
chapped lips, smile lines, moss, always on an adventure, even if they are only
going to the supermarket
Fog NB: Almost ethereal, soft freckles on pale cheeks, lives
in their favorite pair of Toms, grey eyes, listens to Panic! at the Disco,
pancakes with maple syrup, coffee shop dates in the rain, spiderwebs, always
has candles burning, babydoll socks, Mona Lisa smiles
Cloud NB: A little sad but that’s okay, kicking rocks on
sidewalks, deep eyes, loves caterpillars, long eyelashes, probably plays an
instrument, writes loveletters to the moon, soft curves, dancing when nobody is
watching, took tap dance in third grade, hides things in their friend’s
backpacks
Wind NB: Quick-tempered, makes threats and immediately doesn’t
mean them, loves children, wants to swim in the ocean, the life of the party,
their favorite color is red, seems to push people aside but is left thinking
about them months later, concrete sculptures, the smell of fresh air, raised
eyebrows and a smirk

Anna blinked and looked around. This… wasn’t her kitchen. Or any other room in her house. She threw her head back and stomped her feet softly in complaint.
After her brief moment of self pity, she started paying attention to her surroundings. She heard a voice and turned around a corner to see where it was coming from.
“Euh…” She frowned slightly and read the flash card. “Synonymous.”
His brows pull to a visible crease and bewilderment plagues his lost stare. There isn’t a point in attempting to parrot the word. Three-letter-words were newly mastered, and he has yet to reach the packet carrying English words without their respective pictures. He’s heard Rebecca often describe the woes of children expected to spell these terms.
“Can you use it in a sentence?”
“Maybe. I can’t promise that it will be a good sentence.” She smiled and crossed her arms as she tried to think of one, her eyes following a stray wisp of magic. There was an unusually large amount of it.
“Happy is synonymous with joy.” She shrugged. “It isn’t the most useful of words.”
