“I’ll have to interrogate it later. I’m so close to figuring it out.”
John’s watch remained stubbornly silent but its hearts started beating faster. It knew that she was actually close to figuring it out despite the decoy watch she was using.
“Maybe it doesn’t have secrets. Maybe it’s just a nervous watch. I’m a nervous person and I don’t have secrets.”
“It could just tell me that. I just… I can’t not try and figure out what’s going on when it’s ignoring me and acting secretive.” She put her hand in her pocket and wrapped her fingers around the actual watch. Even if it really didn’t have any secrets, she wanted to know why John was incapable of seeing it.
